We have a tillitson HR42a carb on a 73 argo. The engine is a Kohler 399-2t. Does the pulse line between the crankcase and the carb supposed to have a restricter in it? Or What about the return line to the tank...is it supposed to have a restricter? Weve rebuilt the carb and were still just getting way to much fuel If you know any of this info it would be greatly appreciated

I have a similiar carb on a rotax 440. I bought the engine in running condition to put into my 197? argo. My pulse line does not have a restrictor. The return line I cannot comment on since the engine came without a tank.

Just went through similar things on a tillitson HR carb..

The pulse line should not have a restrictor, neither should the return line...

Are you getting fuel flowing through the return line? With the engine running you should have a nice stream coming, not an intense amount but enough.. If you're getting plenty of fuel through the return, about the only other thing it can be is the inlet needle not closing.

i have not noticed how much fuel i am getting trough the return line but the nipple comeing out of the carb just has a pinhole for the gas to go through so it cant be getting much
