  • Where is the Motor Model # printed on a 1999 Vanguard 16hp Motor?

I need to replace an engine component, but the briggs places needs me to tell them the model number of the engine, where can this be found on a 16hp vanguard in a 1999 MAX??

Should be on a tag riveted to the flywheel cover. In your max it will be on side of the cover facing the front of the machine. probably near the stud that the kill wire mounts to

Thanks for the tip, I looked around down there with a mirror, cant seem to find it - Im gonna try tommorrow again as its starting to get dark here..

Is it a standard #? I mean it should be the same as anyone esle with a 1999 MAX II with a 16hp Vanguard i am assuming?

I just happen to have the vanguard out of a max sitting on my wood stove ( insert comment here Jersey ) In the attached pics, the one is a shot of the tag, in the other pic you can see my hand on the right... my index finger is on the tag to give you an Idea of where to look. sorry though, mine is an 18 and the #'s will not be the same.
