i have a max iv and i dont know what year but i need a stator and was wondering if any one had a part nimber for the stator so i can buy one.thanks jason

The easiest thing you can do is just get the part number that is on the stator you have now and look it up: Stators : Kohler Engines and Kohler Engine Parts Store, Genuine Kohler Engine Parts

thair is not a part number barley any thing left to the one that i have.looks like a bomb hit it.a guy left the bolts loose and ate it up.

Check out ebay item #230476914983. Kohler used the same stator on a lot of engines. This one should fit the kohler command or courage 18 - 25 hp models. Also fits most of the k-series engines. I purchased one of these for my k341 16hp engine, works great, best price I could find. If it looks like the one you had, it should fit.
