Compression in Briggs 18 hp

Briggs does not specify a definate compression figure. What they suggest in their t/s proceedures is to compare to a like engine. Which has been posted here. (BY Castro) And at 140 PSI, the reading is VERY acceptable in the 4 stroke generic specs. WEhat you want to make sure of is that the max compression reading of both cylinders doesn't differ by more that 10%. (As with any 4 stroke engine from highest cylinder reading to lowest). And when you test with a gage, crank with both plugs out and until the (needle on the) gage reaches it's maximum reading. It's all just nuts and bolts.
