    what would be a good ratio for a ccw 340 twin thanks the guy i bought this from never used it has sat for 1 1/2 years thanks

    40 some years ago it would have called for one quart 30wt or 40 wt to 5 gal. of fuel. With todays better oils (special 2 stroke oil) 32:1 would be fine. Synthetic 2 stroke oil recomends 50:1 but most people are a little cautious and mix more like 40:1.

        I have to agree with the Buggyman. With synthetics I run 40:1. I tried 50:1 a couple times and there were no bad effects, but I just can't bring myself to run it that thin anymore.

          I always error on the side of too rich. It is easier to change sparkplugs and lean the mix out than it is to change rings... or worse! Use good fuel and start at 32:1 and step down from there! so then 40:1 and then....

          It is also very important to use sinthetic oil. I prefer the use of Amsoil.
