  • Vanguard 18 hp float level carburetor

hello long time since I posted but has anybody got the correct measurements of the carburetor float level on a Vanguard 18 hp Briggs engines. I think mine is way too low I'm sure I could Get it close by guessing but since I have new needle valve and seat i would like to get it close. Also were are the measurements taken from I looked all over the Internet for this information but coming up empty.

The floats on my bs 18 are non adjustable. Plastic float attached to metal 'u' that moves the seating needle. I guess you could bend on the metal 'u' but don't know what you are trying to achieve. What's your issue with the carb exactly? What's you machine doing

this one is made out of brass or copper the fuel level is low I think the previous owner got the governor surge problem that was having mixed up with a fuel issue. On full throttle or going a by going up a steep incline you can tell it has a slight fuel starvation or at least that's what it seems like to me I know I can set it by guess and be okay with that but I just thought some where there was a correct measurement. Won't get around to working on it till the weekend thank you for your reply.
