  • Briggs wiring help!!!!!!!!! and throttle linkage

    i purchased an 8hp vanguard used to put in my max the plug for the voltage regulator has 2 wires and they didnt give me the regulator, i have the original regulator that came with the 440 2stroke but it has 3 wires 2 yellow and a black, could i make this one wrk? also and wiring diagrams of this engin also throttle and choke linkage pics some of it is missing and i dont know what i need, thanks in advance!!!!!!!

    Go to the Briggs website Lawn Mower Parts & Small Engine Parts by Briggs & Stratton and type in your engine model and type codes. They have manuals that you can download for free.
    It's all just nuts and bolts.

      I would buy the correct regulator for your engine. the one from your 2 stroke might work, but it could also fry everything behind the flywheel. the briggs part is about $65. if you fry the stator, your looking at the $65 for the regulator and something like $120 for the stator, plus the labor of having to remove the flywheel, starter and associated parts to replace the stator and correctly route the wiring
