will any briggs vangard with a 1'' shaft work in a 8 I/c argo or is there only certine engines that will work

two things, one is you have to make sure you have a strait keyed shaft clutch alot of those old Kohlers had threaded on clutches, second is 20+ hp Vanguards have oil cooler that gets in the way of the brake disc on the older transmissions not a hard fix you just need to mount it out of the way
