  • GX390 clone engine fuel pump issue.

Finally got around to pulling my JLO 440 twin carb out and putting in a GX390 clone. Problem I'm having is with the pulse fuel pump running the carb insulator is pouring gas out the carb overflow hole. Anyone else ran into this problem? Looking for a way to fix this.

I put a T between the pump and carb, the extra line feeds back to the tank, into a fitting I added to the filler neck of my Hustler. anywhere up high should be good.

I read that somewhere else also and was going to try it tonight. My other concern is the original fuel line that was on the original tank that i removed was only around 1/8" and all the new stuff is 1/4", is this going to also create a problem because there will obviously a volume increase now. Was also going to pull the bowl and make sure the needle valve is seating properly. Post an update later on.

It works good for me, prolly spits about half or more back to the tank. I think your float is fine, but meant to be gravity feed.

Put a "T" in the line between the carb and pump and didn't change anything. Read somewhere else that you can stretch the float needle spring 50% longer also. Did both and works perfect.

Glad you got it! Thanks for update.

So how is it going? Did you find a clutch yet?
