Richards relics argo exhaust

I emailed Richards relics for an exhaust for my argo. His site advertises "exhaust solutions". My exhaust problem is I am putting a bandolero engine (23HP Briggs modded) in a magnum. Richard emailed me back the following

Forgive me, but I am not convinced that this is the "exhaust solution" I have been hoping for. Does anyone have any information for me on this swap. I don't want to buy a 200 dollar unknown item, and then still need to build exhaust when it comes in.

Basically I think it is just a stock muffler just like this one. It fits the 380000 series 23hp stock vanguard engines and for about $132 + shipping.

It's always best to call expecially when you are looking for a special item. Many times, email is not taken seriously or what you are looking for is not understood.

Those are good prices on mufflers from Tulsa EW. Looks like it might work for the Argo. They have one similar to what the Max IV has also, but the exit is in the wrong end. Maybe a phone call there would locate the muffler with the correct specs. I know there are many people looking for a solution to their old Max IV mufflers rusting out / breaking. There must be a million varieties of parts for these engines...

If you have a 380000 series 23hp vanguard, the muffler you want to use on a max or hustler would be oil filter side exit. Part# 808896 and Tulsa EW has it too.. Briggs & Stratton Part , MUFFLER, 808896 on sale from Tulsa Engine Warehouse

You are correct about emails not being taken seriously. But, it is frustrating when it your only line of communication to the outside world. I cannot thank you all enough for the thoughtfulness and time that you put into your responses on here. Thank you for finding me a muffler, I will look into it further, I hope it is the solution!

Exactly, Mike! Consistancy is what makes a strong foundation for a good business. If emails are an inconvenience, don't offer the option. But if you don't offer that option in today's world of e-commerce, your business will certainly suffer. The good thing about 6x6World is that it's a community where people are always nice, helpful, and are willing to all give their input so that someone can get their AATV up and running, rather than having the sole purpose of trying make money off them and then offering no support to back it up after (or even before) a sale is completed.

Well put Jeff! This forum is more like a family, no, better than family. No sibling rivalry that I get from my sister, and no fighting at holidays. lol

Richard is in business to make money...capitalism plain and simple. Don't fault him for trying to feed his family....just be a wise and informed consumer and research other sources. I personally have not bought anything from him, mainly because of the cryptic nature of his prices. Sometimes convenience is worth paying a little more, but when it's so hard to find out the actual price.....is it really convenient?
