  • solenoid question

Hi, I found out that the solenoid on my Max II was bad so i ordered one from Richards Relics but its different than the one currently on it. The one that was on it had a wire that had a large flat rectangular connection on it that hocked onto a wire that went to the starter. But the new one uses a small coupler . can i cut the conector on the starter wire off and put on cuppler for the new solenoid? ( SORRY IF YOU DONT UNDERSTAND, ITS SORT OF HARD TO EXPLAIN) Thanks.

Could you get a picture to help explain maybe? From what I think you are asking you can replace the terminal connections to match the starter solenoid. Just make sure the connectors are secure to the wires if you are using the crimp style. Give them a slight pull after they are crimped to make sure they dont pull out bumping around. Would be best to solder them if you can but not necessary. That must be a weird solenoid. Most I have seen just have the eyelet connections. 2 Large eyelets for the battery and the starter and one smaller eyelet connection coming from the key.
How much was the solenoid if you dont mind me asking?

I asked him for a replacement and he said that was it. I paid 15 which i thought was low.

Yea 15 does seem like a good deal! Is it not like a normal lawn mower style solenoid?

It sounds like it has the buggyman kind on it and he has a my kind for it, don't it? Wow, 5 "its" in one sentence, lol.
