  • JLO 440 Engine rebuild questions

I am in the process of rebuilding 2 JLO 440's. with the 6 bolt head.
The first question is: How to make, or where to buy tools to pull flywheel and clutch?

Question #2: MFG lists several gasket sets, some for electric start and some for non electric start. One of the 2 engines I am rebuilding is electric start and the other is not. They both look the same. Is there a difference that I am missing?

Can I put a clutch with starter teeth on the non electric start engine to convert it to electric start?

MFG lists different belts for the fan drive, one is 615mm, and the other is 625mm, Anyone know which one is correct?

The elec & non elec start require different PTO side crankshaft seals that's why kit is different. you must have bolt holes in the crankcase to bolt electric starter brackets to.

Question#1 Harmonic balancer or gear puller for flywheel and a piece of rod and a bolt depending on what clutch you have.

Question #2 The clutch side crank seal is different.

Question#3 The starter teeth(ring gear) should be seperate from clutch. There is a pressed on style and a wedge style.

Question#4 No idea, I just matched mine up at a sled shop ,Good Luck!
