  • Help w/ fuel pump decision

I'm running a 20 hp Kohler Command in my Attex. It currently has a mechanical fuel pump that was the subject of a field repair last sat upon arrival at the riding spot. Then,to add a little insult to injury, when i returned home I installed my "spare" only to find that it is damaged and leaking fuel also. I'm finding these on ebay for aprox $ 100,OUCH! The pulse type seem more reasonable at about $30-40.My question is,would there be any reason not to just convert to a pulse type pump? Anyone's opinion on pulse vs. mech pumps is welcome. Thanks,

    Joe.

Will one of these work? I run pulse on my engine and picked it up from here. Fuel Pump, Kits & Parts | Small Engine Parts | MFG Supply

Toys4Me, yes, thank you,one of those will suffice. I have 2 Kohler command pro engines and they both have this "costly" upgrade (mechanical pump). Just assumed there was a reason for this.I guess what I was looking for was "....... and I run pulse pumps on some to most of my fleet without any issues......". However, I have seen them on numerous other machines and you say this is what your running,so,that should work for me too. Thanks for the input.
