  • JLO 295 Compression

Dose anyone know what the compression is for a Jlo 295? I put my motor back together in my wedge and finially got time to to get her done and running. The motor has all new seals and bearings, new crank and an over bore piston. When i got to put it over it turns free but has tons of compression about 200 psi to be exact but that just seems a little much i dnt know.

How many times did it turn over to get 200 psi?
    Is your tester working properly?

        Is it a R295?
The R295 motors are a rare motor .
The R295 motor had some special porting done as well, higher compression, angled plug and curved cooling fins on the flywheel.

I would be checking the head space if I were you, if it is too small that new rebuild will go to lunch real quick!

Did you do anything to the head or block or is the rod or crank different?

I just picked up a Max II with a JLO 295 and I got 180 after a compression test. Is this where it should be?
