1999 Max IV gas tank cleaning?

How do you clean out the plastic gas tank that has sit without use for a couple of years? There is very little gas in the tank while it sat.

I would try carb cleaner. The tank is HDPE and is impervious to chemicals, however, it may not be kind to the O-ring in the valve or gaskets in the gas cap.

I used a handful of bolts and some acetone the last tank I cleaned out. It worked well and was cheap.

Just don't use a bic lighter for a flashlight to look into it, that acetone stuff, it DON'T like open flames... hoooowee! no sir it don't!

thats how i did my last two tanks, well except i used clean fuel and nuts and bolts. then sprayed it out and let air dry for about 2 days.

Um uh um I am pretty sure I had a lit cigarette hanging out my mouth the entire time as well as the entire copy acetone wash. Oh well no boom no bad.
