  • carberator suction possible isse

Hye guys. I was wondering if there is going to be an issue with upgrading my fuel lines.

Origionally there were 1/4" lines to and from the tank. (I have a carberator that pumps the gas when running.)

Carb says: Walbro corp. Cass city Mich. USA on it
It is on a JLO single.

I am upgrading to 5/16" line and adding an in-line fuel filter.

    1. Do i need to add a pump bulb for this carb to start?

    2. Will i still get the suction with the bigger line and filter?

1 no the pump will suck the fuel thru the filter on its own.
2 yes but the return line should be smaller than the feed.

I'd highly recommend ditching the Walboro and replacing it with a Mikuni. Those Walboros and Tillotson carburetors are SO unreliable and temperamental.

Why are they tempermental. Do they sell rebuild kits?

What is so good about the mikuni? Where and how much?

Kits for the tillotson carbs are available and easy to install.
Mine works great at any angle.

that's what I thought was good about a pump style carb over a bowl type. Mukini are bowl right?

The fuel pump carbs run well at off camber situations
