  • 2003 conquest needs the choke on to run

    Hello,
My Argo has been sitting for 8 months under a tarp out of the weather but after starting it up it needs some choke on to run well.
I was wondering if it may be the fuel pump??
If it is what pump would be the best?
    Thanks

I don't know allot about the Kaw motors other then they do not run good on old skunk gas. Siphon out the old and put in some fresh ethanol free gas in it. Then add some marine grade sta-bil to it.

Your pilot jet is likely plugged off. Pull your carb apart and give it a clean. A Torch Tip Cleaner works good to clean all the tiny holes.

As others have stated, your gas has gone bad. Modern fuel with ethanol does not keep well and gums up carbs.

Had this happen with my generator last year, it wasn't used for 6 months and when I tried to start it, no luck. Lots of ether finally got it started but it would only run on partial choke.

I used carb cleaner, drained the gas and put in fresh hi test (no ethanol used), after an hour or so it ran smooth.
