Hello all - this website rocks !!!
Need some help please with ....
Is there a tag somewhere on this engine that will tell me what it is ( a R295 or L295 ?)
The Attex I have is an ST 300 -
I'm not getting spark and also not getting any charging voltage either -
Does anyone know what I should be reading for Ohms on the coil -
I have disconnected rectifier because I suspect it's bad - plus I just want to check the yellow leads for voltage or ohms. I dont trust the rectifier yet so I took it out of the circuit for now..
I'm trying to test volts AC right off the yellow leads ( stator ? ) coming out of the flywheel - I hit the starter button and using a voltmeter - I am only getting 8 volts AC -
Also trying to test the blue wire for ohms or a voltage when engine is turning over -
I will be pulling flywheel to get at points and etc but for now I'm wondering how I can check the blue wire ( before it feeds the ignition coil ) - and the yellow stator winding leads ( before they feed the rectifier/ regulator )
any help would be greatly appreciated
