  • bazoo wheels stuck,cannot remove

hey guys i just got this bazoo 6x6 model 01841A it sat for a long time, tires are shot.took the 3 lug nuts off and the tire won`t budge.is that cone shape on the inside part of the rim? must be seized in the axle housing.i have only tried the one tire so far. wonder where to buy that oddball size tire too 21x12x8. any ideas out there. thanks ken in vernon.b.c. canada

Have you kicked the tire or tapped on it to try and free the wheel? As for a 21x12x8 tire you will probably have to source some 21x11-8 or 21x10-8 chevron tires. Not sure if you have room (you will need another 1/2" of clearance) for 22" tires but if so, that will expand your selection slightly.

Spray some PB Blaster or other penetrating oil between the hub and wheel and let it soak for a while. Then like mike said, kick it or tap it and eventually you'll work it loose.

I dont know bazoo but others I have seen a more dished shaped part of the axle hub that the tire rests over. It adds extra support to the inner wheel. Fits inside what would be the rim part of the wheel. I am guessing that is what your talking about. I have also seen a larger washer like part of the hub that does the same thing by supporting the inner wheel. They are normally a tight fit and if the rim part rust any it could make it difficult. That extra support does a lot to the strength of the hub where it bolts to the wheel. If your making adapters you will need to reinforce it. Depending how bazoo made them I guess. But I just made some adapters to make attex 3 lug to 4 and mounted them on. It doesnt take long and the whole original 3 lug hub part rips off the axle tube.

Everything I have seen with the dished part are not connected but more press when you tighted up the lug nuts.

The tube is on the back of the rim and pressed up to a plate that is welded to the axle.
I made one that was missing on my rear axle.

When you remove the 3 bolts from the rim tap the outer section with a block of wood to break it loose.
There should be a rubber disc between the tube and the plate.

mud_puppy_57,I'm sure this is too late to be of any use but here goes anyhow, Here is a pic of the cone shaped support that is part of the adaptor, not the wheel

Here is a flat style one

                This pic shows both types

This is how they look while still assembled

That's a very unique wheel for the Bazoo. I'm guessing this is the pic that mud puppy 57 needed to see.

Yes the tube adds strength to the axle.
Problem is the axle breaks at the bearing mount.
