I'm glad to see somebody's thinking "outside the box" here. I've got 2 Max II's, and I've been trying to figure out how to make the Aqua Torques work on at least one of them. This would be the perfect solution if they'll do it. Put me down for 6!

R.I. needs to decide if they want to ride out current designs till business dies away, or look farther into the future. How many years has it been since Argo made all current models accept 25" tires, even if they were optional. Then they came up with their own design for tires. With the rawhideIII's NLA Mudd-Ox is going to a 26" tire. R.I. needs to do the same. Personally, I'd like to see a custom 26" tire for an 8" rim......with a softer sidewall to ride more like the old balloon tires. Imagine that on a MaxII

22" Aqua Torques? Sounds like they may consider if demand is there...
I received a reply to my inquiry from Interco on the possibility of producing 22" Aqua torques. I think the demand is there since the older AATVs are likely to need new shoes. It sounds like they would consider them if they feel the demand is there. I am going to email her back and tell her that the size older rigs use will require an 8" rim.
It doesn't seem like scaling down a mold for a new tire size would be all that expensive with 3D printers and cad/cam machines, but what do I know..
Heres the email, from Patti Campbell at Interco.
Mike:
We have received similar comments from other owners of the amphibious ATVs and would like to be able to get this done. There are two major problems which are;
Molds are so very expensive we need to know there is a high enough demand for a given tire to justify the cost and the second is; unless we can convince the factory there is going to be a high enough demand they are not willing to do all the things necessary to get a tire in production.
We have been told by the amphibious ATV manufacturers that they are not manufacturing anymore machines that will be using the 22’ tires in the future and that most are going to 25”s. Another problem we have is we understand the amphibious ATVs are using 9” rims. The 9” is no longer popular on the standard ATVs. If it were then it would be easy to get the production volume the factories need because there would be a much larger market. We have not given up on the idea but I can not say if or when we will be able to get a 22x9 AquaTorque. Any additional information you wish to share with us will be appreciated.
We appreciate your interest in our tires.
Best wishes,

That's not true. Maybe Argos won't be using 22" tires, but Recreatives will still be making the Max II and they're only available now with 21" or 22" tires on 8" rims, and that's not going to change."Looks like you have a problem with your 4 wheeler........you're missin' two wheels there"

I would rather see them copy the 22" Rawhide III and produce it at an affordable price. It's the best all around tire for just about every 6x6 ever made (Max II, Attex, Hustler, Conquest, Response, Vangaurd, every 70's 6x6). The Aqua Torque is a specialty tire and is too heavy for many amphibs (older models) and too rough for most riders.Everybody dies, but not everybody lives.

I totally agree, the 22" Rawhide III was the best all around AATV tire for machines that can't accommodate a larger tire. They're soft, they're great in the mud, they're decent swimmers, and they last a long time. Any tire that could be produced for our machines would be great. I'd like to see the Aquatorques in a 22" size, but I'd really like to see Rawhide III's brought back."Looks like you have a problem with your 4 wheeler........you're missin' two wheels there"
