hi, well i just got my 8x8 up and running. It came with argo snow tracks, but the previous owner never used them and for a couple of years left them out in the weather. i had them in the shed for the last 2years and just got them out. the locking collars are rusted solid, the the pins move freely in the tracks( i pb blasted them last night). they are using 1/4 all thread to connect them with double nutted on each end. should i put them on the machine and run them around in the yard to see if they would hold up? or try to cut them apart? one of the pins is sticking out of the end of the track(about 3/4 inch) the rest are allined correctly.

I would get rid of the allthread ASAP,all this will do is wear the hole in this particular link, and the one it is connected to.Find some stainless round stock and make new connecting pins.If any pin sticks out you run the risk of body damage(gouging the lower tub),make sure they are close as possible and for sure run them to the outside.

thanks for the info. i put on the wheel ext. and fitted the tracks on today. with 5psi in each tire i got about 2-3inchs of slack in the tracks(machine on blocks). I will get rid of the allthread and make new round stock connectors. the one pin is only sticking out of the end of the track connector about 3/4 inch. these are 18inch snow tracks so the pin is protected by the track.
