l just insalled 1 1/2" bolts on the outer edge of my 18'' plastic tracks for grip......has anybody tried this and what kind of resuluts......how high are argo,s and how much $......thanks

That's how I run mine. It doesn't take long for the ends of the bolts to round off, but even then they help quite a bit.
I think I might try sharpening the ends of the bolts this year, and might even try hardening them so they last a little longer.

thks rock doctor u just gave me an idea about maybe try hardening yur bolts.......what about #5 bolts [the ones that are colored yellowish and super hard]Comment

Those are Grade 8 Bolts, and that's exactly what I'm using. The ends still round off. I'm thinking that I might be able to heat the sharpened ends up to red hot, then quench them in oil. That will make them harder, but more brittle. If they start breaking the tips off them I might try to temper the tip s after I harden them.Originally posted by Mr. Moose View Post
