As you watch this video of the copy of the Escargo tracks with one bank of tires on one side of the tub compared to the dual bank of tires on one side of the tub, with the Adair Fat Cat tracks, you can clearly see which set of tracks slide side to side easier. The UHMW track grousers slide so much easier.Over time this will cause less wear and stress placed on the axles, axle bearing, and chains.

When I saw that machine start to climb up the icy snow covered bank at the bottom of the lake I thought:
"he's not gonna be able to climb that",
I couldn’t believe my eyes when that Frontier went right up that icy slope, then toward the end of the video I saw that huge pile of snow and I thought:
"he's not going to try that, it's to steep, the machine will flip over, and he can't possibly have the traction necessary to climb that bank of snow."
When he started up that pile of snow I figured he would get half way up run out of traction, after that Frontier climbed that snow pile I watched it again and again not believing my own eyes.
How in the world could any machine climb and pile of snow that high and that steep?
That machine seems to turn so easy in the snow and ice, and those steel track cross members, man do they grab traction.
Wow, Adair has set a new standard for snow and ice tracks, very, very impressive.

Mudbug,
I do believe that from the 2 videos in this tread you also have to take into consideration the type ot terrain that each machine is traversing.....One is open snow packed field and the other is uneven, humps and bumps and downed trees.
I am not saying that one is better then the other as I have never used either of these track systems....I do however enjoy watching videos of all machines with or without tracks and what each person is capable of putting their machine thru.Even if you’re on the right track, you’ll get run over if you just sit there.

This is a better comparisson of the two different kinds of tracks and how each set of tracks slide side to side. Because each of the Adair track grousers extend so far down each side wall of the tire, this enables the Adair tracks to turn easier and also make sharper turns. But, on the positive side, the copy of the Escargo tracks will shed mud really easy and should provide exellent traction in all mud conditions.

Finally, a track over dually....yes! Good floatation with a reasonable width. Nice job. Those cleats look "deep" enough to do the trick for ice traction. The huge advantage I see is dually wheels supporting the entire width of track. The lack of outside tire guides rubbing the outside sidewalls and flexing with the belt. Not to mention the increased bouyancy. I'm curious where the middle guides make contact on the tire - side tread or sidewall? My heavy machine needs this set up for safer water use.......dang it!
