  • Home made pp track

This is an experiment. The result was unknown. For traveling on snow, I made tracks from PP pipes. Trucks assembled at pp rope. You can go to -8 degrees. if the truck breaks down below the slip on the rocks. We went once.
Tested in the snow depth of 60 cm
    there is a problem-wheel slip.
I think as a pull truck
This track is viable or bad idea?

Very cool. I like the open/self cleaning design. It reminds me of adair tracks. I see what you mean by slipage, but I think if you wrap the pipes in rubber tape like used on tennis rackets grips, it would do much better. I think they may do ok in snow, but do not know how they would hold up in mud and on rocks though. Your ingenuity is commendable.
l like to buy stuff and no I don't do payments!

rock for sure is a no. mudd should be ok if you can stop the slipping. I have a few idea's how to stop the slippage, but it is hard to explain.

привет из Канады, I am new to argos and new to this board.... but I am not new to accounting. In Canada, you could buy a set of tracks for no more then $700 for your vehicle. For your custom tracks I counted, 200 elbows, 200 tees, 200 caps and probably 300+ ft of pipe, plus glue, plus the connection piece for each track. That material cost here would be over $700 not to mention your time. Plus you have no temperature constraints for use and I expect that rocks will hammer that track to pieces. The theory is good, but i do not believe the track is viable. Хорошее везение mm

One homemade truck costs $ 2 here where I live.
            I've got 92. I made them for 4 days.
During the tests, one broke. I made a cutter to remove the residue and replace the broken part without dismantling tracks
summer, I want to drive through the swamp.
            later made a videо.

I thought I put on rubber tube on the track. when I did not find it.
Two trucks weigh 37 kg. Stowed look like

Sorry, but I would never try those tracks in mud and swamp. The first root that catches them is going to break them, they are not going to be durable enough to run on any hard surface. I would never trust them in the swamps where I run.

Sorry, but I was waiting for the track wrap up to break the rope and then wind itself around all the axles...

Is that a swing down prop on the back of that machine? If so its using the same idea as a Schwimmagen. Would love to know a little more about the machine.

great effort, i'm amazed how well they worked in the snow. hope you get things worked out. i have made my own and even using strong metal it still takes alot of trial and error to get them dependable and durable. johnboy va.
