  • Running Argo Ice Cleats on the inside of Supertracks (Conquest)

Any of you guys run the Argo ice cleats on the inside of their supertracks on a Conquest? I run angle iron cleats/grousers on the outside, but would like something on the inside to help on ice and hard pack. The cleats also help protect the tracks.

I ran ice cleats on the inside and outside of the supertracks I was running on my Avenger with 24" tires and they never rubbed. It looks like I wouldn't have an issue as my tracks are almost new and they appear to be nice and snug.

I certainly don't run at high speeds (16 mph max) with the tracks.

    I do
To combat the possibility of having the cleats contact/wear on the underside of the fender, I mounted a strip of 1/4" UHMW up under the fender. Used Counter Sunk 5/16" Bolts. If the cleats were to ride up, or rub, they will hit the UHMW. It was fairly easy, just have to make sure of where you drill through. Working around the Air Intake was the worst part. I ended up pulling the Rad, so I could get my hand into the intake shroud to put washers and nuts on the studs.
Make sure you dont drill right up under a seat suport...... Don't Ask

      RD,

I think you have pretty much been there done that with Conquests! Have the cleats rubbed the UHMV much or do they stay clear of the tub for the most part?
