If the Spike portion is too long and sticks beyond the grousser surface could just cut them to length with a 45 degree angle. What are you thinking as for number between groussers? The good part is you have so many. The bad is if they wiggle and roll too much they may cause premature wear of the belt portion of the track. I have the Pro series track also and would be interested in some sort of extra bite for hills or side sloping. I would consider cutting them just short of the surface of the grousser maybe a 1/4 inch shorter. Good on pavement and still get some bite in dirt as the grousser sinks into the surface. A plate of some sort that the spikes are bolted through together with the belt should help reduce the wiggle and roll, then again might not be necessary. Just thinking.

Threaded part is just under an inch. They seem heavy duty, but Ive never used them for anything before.

I will say that as a carpenter, trying to break a hilte nail is hit or miss. Sometimes they snap one hit to the side other times they just bend over and you end up breaking the concrete around them. How long is the threaded part?

You want aggressive, just put the winter kit on, both the 8" cleats, and the 4".You have the same pro series tracks as me, right? I still have my kit on,and don't ever plan on taking it off,I truely believe this is the most aggressive set of tracks on the planet right now.
Agreed, these will be for winter use only.
I think they are pretty strong, they are made to shoot into Concrete I believe.
As for the Cleats, I have them already. They are too much in the summer time in my conditions, I can hardly turn when heavily loaded (Which I usually am), so I think I should take them off for the summer (easy enough to do). My Chained 18.5 Adairs are much easier to turn in with a heavy load right now (They have no Cleats on them)
Thinking of mounting the Picks through the Belt, washer and nut on either side, with the Pick sticking up past the Grouser Faces. No rush now, as it's summer time, but thinking about it.

Actually going to pull the tracks of here shortly anyway to install a 1" Spacer Kit. Tracks are really close to my Skid Plate.

    Thanks for the input, appreciated.

Yes, 3" total length. Easily 2" of stud would protrude from the Belt, if they were mounted there. I'm not home, so can't measure how much stud would protrude past the Grouser Faces.
I have hundreds of these things, they were left over from a construction job.

They look about 2" in length, so what part of the track are you thinking, belt between cleats and where did you get it?

Videos of the Colorado Wyoming winter ride

I came across these videos of the 2012 Wyoming-Colorado 2012 winter ride. This is some absolutely amazing winter footage that I haven't seen posted anywhere else. I admire the type of folks who do this winter riding, this terrain looks extremely difficult and flat dangerous. I don't believe I would want to be out under these very extreme conditions without three or four more AATV's equipped for deep snow.

That was a great section of trail and really shows what a Tamarack swamp is. It is exactly what I built my machine for. I could run back and forth on that trail all day long.

Dougs swamp was our destination. Kind of interesting that now with all the exposure through video we can make a trail like this look tame.

It was impressive that Jason was able to pilot that Argo in those very difficult situations. Thanks for taking the time to film and post up the video Fox Valley. I would love to see that Argo in some of the swamp areas around here. Not sure I could get you stuck but I could sure offer that machine a serious challenge or two.
Glad you enjoyed it. It was great taking the family and not really worrying about getting stuck. As you know the Argo with the Tbar steering really is a dream to drive. My wife and Jason just love it. Also everyone seemed to gravitate to the 8 wheeler. Nothing beats an 8 wheeler for hauling people. I would love to make it down by you sometime Dan.

It was a blast! While I know the family enjoyed the ride in Doug's Argo, for me being able to work the T20 in my shorter Max was really a lot of fun.
