  • Adapters/Wheels

Ok, I got the Terra Tiger Saturday and got to completely look it over. All the wood in it (sandwhiched between fiberglass) is rotten and 2 chains need replacing. On the outside, a 6x6 owners worst nightmare... the homemade adapters were welded to the shafts My plan is to grind these adapters off the axles and drill a hole through each adapter (that I'll have to buy) so I can fit them onto the axles and weld them on. Sound good? Then I'll have new 5 lug adapters on the axles. Right now I need 6 adapters and 6 wheels so I can start measuring up. I'd like to keep the cost low so I'm looking for salvaged or used parts. PM me with what you have.

Did you check out the 3 lug to 5 lug wheel adapter template plate that George made for us? Maybe this will help you out.

Yeah it helps, but I don't have a lathe that has that much swing
I have a mill but including my time it may be easier to just buy them...

Another option to consider is 3 to 4"x4 bolt circle. Then golf cart rims will work which I have found cheaper then the 5 holers.

I'm looking into that also. But if I can get the adapters/wheels cheap I'll go that way. Either way I'll get it moving.

Here are the cobbled adapters: This on looks ok (this is the best) the rear adapters have some funky 1 inch spacing? All are different and are cobbled... They're all welded to the axles and ruined the 3 bolt plate under them...
I think the axles are 1" I'll check tomorrow...

The mic. is the axle dia. You can see how these adapters were made. The axle was cut and the adapter welded to the end of it.

I have a set of old Attex wheel hubs made to slip over a 1" axle. The bolt circle is 5 on 4.5. PM me if you can use them.
