l_system_e6_80.jpgDoing some research on robotics found me some neat things to make tracks from. Its called drag chain. I am setting some up right now . Made of HDPE black the links snap together. As this product was not designed for my application some adjusting is needed, however the ability to fine tune the side wall height and over all with is amazing. adjustments of 2-3 mm can be done as well as bend radius as well as free span weight dissipation.. With the sample I have, I can see that the final track will work on my 26 inch tires just fine with no hub or body mods needed... I will keep updating , be patient.

Yes Lord Icon keep us updated. I for one am very interested. Wonder how tough this set up is and if it will hold up to a machine skid steering on it?

If that's the same as we use at work on the rf welders to contain hoses/ wiring etc (only 4" wide though) it's a right pain for breaking where it clips together. However, I wish you well buddy and hope it's successful, easier to get over here than tracks and a damn sight cheaper.

That track looks great. Nice and open. Should clean themselves really good. Can't wait to see them on your machine. Please post picks!

I'm on my second sample. The first was too narrow and the bending radius was too large. This next set is 3 inches wider and bending radius is down from 250mm to 150 mm. My major concern is the lack of traction on flat surfaces. I may have to add spikes or wear bars ... oh and the track while coming in a multitude of sizes and strengths.... is $50 a foot... I may seek another vendor....
