The ice is often not stable because of the current. Some people have great stories to tell after they broke through. Do you think there is any chance of driving out of deep water back up onto the ice with the Adair 14" belted track? Maybe with steel cleats? You must have the same troubles getting into your camps.?
Absolutely no doubt in my mind, assuming the tracks were fitted with the proper hardware. The 14" Belted Track would not be my first choice in track systems for such conditions though. I would lean toward a wider track for winter conditions, perhaps the 14" Belted tracks with the Snow Extensions, although I have not tried the tracks in that configuration

Thanks Doc.I would love to be confident that getting back onto the ice would be possible. I have 20 inch rubber tracks that work great for deep snow but swimming is not in their vocabulary. If there is a bit of a trail in to the cabin I was thinking that I might get away with the 14 inchers and no spacers?
