What is a good all round tire pressure to run on my MAX IV, it has 26X12 TRU POWER tires. I'm looking for a more comfortable ride. Max tire pressure on sidewall is 20 psi. That is what I'm running now.

Ok, thanks, right now I ride on wood roads, mostly hard packed with some not to deep mud hole. I'm new to 6x6 AATV's and just learning to drive it. I may just try dropping the pressure a few pounds and try it. Just wondering what others run for pressure. Looking to take some of the bumps out.

I run 2.7 to 3.5 depending on the weather, and also what conditions that I will be riding in. I run 26x12x12 Maxxis Mudbugs, and considering how aggressive the tire is, I still have a comfortable ride in my Hustler! Hopes this helps!!
Also, even though it may be a lil too far of an extreme and maybe even a little expensive at first,, nitrogen holds a more true gauge than regular air. This means that the air pressure stays more stable and you wont have to check tire pressure nearly as much as you would with regular air. The air pressure doesn't increase or decrease as bad with nitrogen than it would with oxygen if the temperature goes up or down. I put nitrogen in my Mudbugs when I first mounted them and i aired them up to 2.7 and it stayed that way for almost 3 months. I rode the Hustler a lot in those three months putting almost 50hrs on it! Since I don't dragrace motorcycles hardly any now due to my new love to 6x6's, I got rid of the extra cylinders of Nos that I had laying around, and just started putting oxygen in. I just have to check the tires more regular now, that's all!!HUSTLEMANIAC and a HONORARY MEMBER of the

If you have the flat center wheels it takes 2.5 to 3.5 psi to hold a bead in rough areas. The klock wheels can run below 1 psi and be fine. 20 is a back breaker now that they have been inflated to that pressure they may be streached a bit. I usually have to play with pressure to get the vehicle to track straight on hard ground. Don't worry if you have to run 1 psi more in one side to go srraight line. The 21x11x8 tires that have been run at 15-20 psi can gain 4" in circumference. The 26x12s don't grow as much. Ride should be much better around 3 psi. Have fun

If got the 26" tires on my hustler and I have dry-rotted tires tubed and glued and keep them at 6 psi and it just kills my back.. Could not imagine the pain at 20psi. As soon as the ASX tires get on the market.. these old tires are going to the recyclers.

Wow 20psi is crazy. I don't know how you can even ride it. If you have a '99 or newer Max with the K-rims, you can run zero to 2 psi. The older rims let the tire get knocked off the bead easier if you hit a rut, so about 3psi is required for them.Everybody dies, but not everybody lives.

WOW, 20 psi is a lot to run. I try to keep mine between 3-5 like most of the other guys on here. Someone can correct me if I am wrong but I do believe that the 20psi on the tire is the stated max psi used to seat the tire on the rim????? Am I wrong in that??????Even if you’re on the right track, you’ll get run over if you just sit there.
