    Can Yinz use these 3 bolt to 4 bolt adapters?

    Was dickin around online on a gokart site lookin at parts for the kids cart and stumbled across these. Was curious if they would work or not for the early 3 bolt axle hubs? Pretty Expensive and dont have the support tube on back, but that could easily be welded on. Maybe this will help someone in dyer need of some IF it works!

    I bought similar in the past.....the 3 bolt holes need to be slotted/enlarged. Besides, the 3 to 5 adapters are cheaper from Adair. adairargosales - 3 To 5 Adapters

      Cool, good job man! Wander why they "slot" the stud hole on the adair ones?

        If you look at the picture in the link I posted, the Adair adapters are not slotted.
        I had to slot the holes in the adapters I bought that were meant for the Honda. The bolt center was just slightly smaller....about half a bolt diameter if I remember right.
        With a 3 bolt pattern, I slotted from center out. That way it wasn't critical to make all the slots the same to keep proper alignment.

          I think it's to make cutting on a water jet or laser table eaiser. Don't have to "start" multiple holes.

            It also helps the hole expand when you press the studs in and not bend the plate.

              JoeMeg, and Bazoooguy are both right... We do try to do continuous cuts where cost savings is more important than the possibility of fatiguing the area, but another reason for the way I have designed it is so that we could cut a very thin (3/16") plate out of slightly stronger 50k steel as the factory 3 bolt 1/4" studs are very short (3/4") and we didn't want to give up a lot of origional stud length for the three nuts to capture....because of this...it is hard to get a good hold from a press in stud with such a short knerl so I decided that a grade 5, 7/16" by 20 by 1" bolt that was welded in place on the back side would give less trouble down the road...just my opinion
