Yesterday I was finishing up plastic welding a few small holes in my tub when I started thinking about the 30 or so broken 13 inch argo track segments I have in a box. Most of them only have 1 of the corner holes split so I plastic welded a couple up and built the pin hole back up let me say I am impressed. I tested them out on the bench by putting a track pin in the broken hole and bending and twisting not one of the 2 I fixed broke so I think they will work for emergency fixs in the bush.

Nice to know that some old skid plate went to some good R&D. Maybe I should have kept more for myself. Oh well to late now that most of it is already gone to good use in other forms.
Sure there were a few gouges in the old pieces but when you melt the plastic the gouges go away....lol.
The gouges on the skid plate sure protect the bottom of the argo here on the ROCK.Even if you’re on the right track, you’ll get run over if you just sit there.

Now I no why they call newfoundland the rock lol after seeing your skid plate. Im really surprized just how tough that stuff is when melted together. As long as the area to be welded is super clean I think the weld is just as strong as the rest of the plastic if I would have thought this would have worked on the track segments I would have saved my old worn out set and fixed them up.
