these tires are heavily built with thick sidewalls, they will not offer much in the way of suspension but should hold up well to the rocks in the mountains

Man, those are some thick tires! I don't think you will puncture those easily.

There are some high mountain lakes that I was dreaming of when I purchased these, I also am planning to build some tracks and wanted a very square tread.

Are those 20x10x8 tires? I gave my dad a pair of those for his John Deere garden tractor and the sidewall was so hard that he ran them without air and they still looked like they were filled with air.......kind of like run-flat tires. They have very good traction too!

should I run them with the V shape forward or backwards I have seem both ways in the pictures.

For best traction, point the V forward. For best water speed, point the V backward. Some people still like to point the V backward for dirt and mud, since you always have a little better traction if you have to back out of a situation. This has happend more than once on a few of my machines. I keep Vs backward at all times. Find out what works best for you...
