  • None of my tires are the same size! ???

Hey all, has anyone else ran into the issue of their tires being way outa wack as far as diameters go? Recently, I noticed that my max was pulling to the left, not just a little, a lot! enough to where I had to constantly hold pressure on my right stick just to keep it straight. I checked my chains, bearings, front brake, tire pressure etc. then I read on here someone advising to check tire diameter. So I did just that. Couldnt believe it! two tires were around 66cm, then another two were low 60's and then the final two were low 50's! So i swapped them around putting the smallest two on the rear, next biggest middle and largest in front. Heres a pic, you can see the difference. Anyone know what causes this? all the treads look to have the same amount of wear, and all have the same PSI, and all are stamped to be 21x11.00-8 (goodyear rawhides). I tried airing up the back ones, but decided against it cause I thought more PSI would make them more likely to puncher. I know the rear one is on backwards, after this pic, I took two off to take to the atv dealer to have de-mounted and switched around. Thanks for any input

To clarify, the measurements where with the tires off the machine with a band tape measure

I could be way wrong here as I'm looking in 2D , yet looks as if the rims are different, are the front 2 rims 8x7 and the rear one an 8x8? That would make a huge difference in height and width.

You know, I never thought of that! It would make sense though, I noticed the other night that a couple of the wheels looked to be newer than the others. I wonder if the previous owner bought the wrong size wheels. Are these wheels marked or do I have to break them down and measure?

I just went out to the garage and looked. All of the wheels are stamped by the lug nuts, and all of them same the same, they're all 8x8

If you are running the same air pressure in all 6 now, you could try to make them grow. Air the rear ones up so they are the same as the front and leave them in the sun all day off the machine ( preferably one day each side of tire) and check the growth in the evening once they've cooled. You may be able to get close to the front ones with similar air pressure if they'll grow for you, though it may take more air pressure and diameter than the goal size to achieve the growth and relieve the memory.

There was a thread on here that talked about sizing tires. If I remember correctly, you can not only make them a bit larger, but you can also get them to shrink a bit. I believe an oven was involved. I would suggest searching the tire section of the forum. It was probably within the last 3 months or so.

Try the largest diameter tires in the center with smallest on the front. This will help alot when turning. Just my 2 cents.
