  • Tracks for an old Argo

So I got my 86 Argo 6 i/c back in good running shape, Now I think my next step is putting tracks on it for the winter. Do I need to put wheel extensions on or is that just if I want to run super wide tracks? I don't have the cash to buy new tracks so I'm trying to find some used tracks. How do I know what tracks will fit my machine? There is someone on this forum selling tracks for a max II but I'm not sure how to tell if they would fit my machine.

    Thanks

    They wont fit.
Finding used tracks is very hard. And they still aren't cheap.
Your best bet would be to call Tim at Adair Argo adairargosales - Home and see what he has in older style tracks that were traded in on new style ones.

Spacers depend on the machine/rim/track combo, but some kind of spacer probably is required.

I got a set of 18 inch wide argo snow tracks with wheel ext. That came with my 1987 8x8I/C. I put them on last winter. Only played around with them in the yard. They worked great in deep snow. Kept the argo on top of foot and halve deep snow. I was thinking of selling them since I really don't need them. Got pics in gallary. Take a look.

Could I just remove a bunch of the track pieces and use them on my 6x6? Sorry for the dumb questions, I just don't know anything about tracks yet and I wanna make sure I get some that I can use. The wheel extensions would probably be the same too, right?
