Tire direction?

Can someone shed some light on the way the chevrons should be facing. My argo has them pointing forward so that the point of the "V" touches ground first. All the tractors that I've ever seen, including mine have it the other way around. My first inclination was that mine are backwards.

if your v are running like a reg tractors forward they will not swim .you have to have them riunning backwards for them to swim. e bringing the water from the outside of the tire to the center of the tire . a pic would be worth a 1 k words .

If this is the front of your machine put the tire on so the V's face backward like so >>>.As has already been stated they won't swim the other way.

Quiet Horse- It is all a matter of personal preference and how much swimming you do. On my Max II I run my Rawhide IIIs in the traction position (Vee pointing down when viewed from the front). The traction is much better, but it does not swim which is okay for me.

I was thinking that most Argos sit nose low in the water with the very front wheels almost completely submerged limiting their propulsion. I'm guessing if you ran the front tires in the traction position it shouldn't slow the water speed that much but would increase the traction exiting the water or mud hole.

for traction in mud and easier self cleaning of same, point down looking from the front, for swimming and super loose material, opposite.
That has always been my experience with heavy equipment.
If the point is "up", they will get short term very good traction, but, will load up with mud fairly fast, and, not clean so well......
IMHO.........as always, others results may vary.......

Thats a great picture showing the rawhide tires facing the right direction for water speed . Is this whats called " Living on the edge " ?

Ok, mine are set up for better traction. "V" pointing down when looking over the front of the Argo. I don't have much water to go in so I'll leave them that way for now.
