  • Advice on bigger rims/tires

I currently am running 8" rims on my Hustler and would like to go with tires larger than the current 22", but it appears in order to go with larger tires I'm going to have to go with 9" rims.
Any idea what bolt pattern I should shop for in a 9" rim? I have no idea what other ATV wheels will fit a Hustler.

If you want a good beadlock, call the folks at Mudd-Ox. There's is better than the Argo 9" rims from what I have heard and read. Besides those, there aren't that many options in a 9" 5 lug.

Im not at home now, but I think mine are 4 lug. Lots of guys out there running tires bigger than my 22" on their Hustlers. Where did you guys pick up rims, and what kind are they?

With 8" rims you can go up to 24" in tires. 23" tires are rare, and in the 24" you are very limited in tread patterns with the Argo tire probably being the best.
For 25" tires, you will need 9" rims, and for 26" or larger 12" rims.
Hustlers came stock with the 5 bolt axles, unless it is old enough to have the balloon tires (tiny 3 bolt ), and someone put on 4 bolt adapters.
        What model is your Hustler?

I'm not a hustler owner, at least not a complete one, but from what I've seen most are running the 26x12x12 tires with either Max or Muddox Klock rims, tires can be found on ebay, interco site, or any atv aftermarket site but shop for price. The new Muddox tires and the Argo 25x12x9 tires are the best swimmers.

My new beer holder spilled some on the trails - in it's hair and down it's throat.
            Joe Camel never does that.

Thanks Jim. I'll take a look on E-bay. I can't go bigger than 25" on my 950 I've been told.

25'a are it in the 950. I believe you may have to be careful as to what 25's you put on there as well. The 25x12x9 rawhide 3's would work well on it. Look up "big tires that swim well" on here. I think that's the name of the thread at least. It discusses options. You may just have to search for the style you decide in an 8 or 9 inch rim and 25" height. ArgoJim is used to seeing all the 980's that can run 26, 27, and maybe even a small 28" tire.

Jim, did a search on E-bay for Muddox Klock and returned 0 results. Also don't show a Muddox Klock on the interco site. You have a link?

You have to get ahold of Mudd-Ox inc. Pm member Matt O. He is the owner of the company and a real nice, but very busy, guy.
