No I have not tried them. BUT now with that been said. I do have 8 of them 22x10x8 Brand new They came with the conquest. And I mounted one to see what it would be like. And it,s way too soft for my use. I do not want to be fixing flats. In sand or snow It maybe fine.
I still have not found a use for them.
I just mounted 2 yesterday to try on the rear of my Hustler. Think Im gonna cut them and open up the paddles and see how they do. Its an experiment--got em cheap enough to play with them.
That looks good. I think they will swim a little now. Those are really good riding tires and if you can get them to swim, I think they would work out well. I think Old Tucker has a valid point about them probably not being the toughest tire but watching them on an Attex of member racerone3, they reminded me of a balloon tire. They really form to the terrain and if you spin one quickly, it would grow in size a good bit. They almost act like another form of gearing. Small in diameter when you are running slow acts like a low gear, and they expand when you get moving to act like a high gear.
Hurry up and get that other one cut and let us know how they do.
OK-They DO swim. Barely. I went from Zero swim ability to a little swim ability. I mounted the tires on the rear. Funny thing-they seemed to swim better in reverse. My reasoning is this- I think the other 4 non-swimming tires are creating so much air cavitation that when in forward the swim tires are getting a tremendous amount of air bubbles thrown back to them from the other tires. When in reverse the swim tires are the lead tires and are not getting all the air bubbles thrown under them from the other tires.
I'm no expert-just my observation and opinion. I think if all the tires were the same that these tires would swim great.
It doesn't really matter now-just got the new GBC Gators delivered today. Kinda anxious to see how they swim now.
I assume the Gators will swim best if mounted opposite conventional ATV direction? (ie. the point of the "V" pointed to the rear of the machine at the top)?
Any of you experienced Gator owners chime in here?
Best deal I could find on 'em was $88.64 ea, free shipping, no tax. If anyone knows a better price--don't tell me. :-)
Oh yea
-also noticed when taking wheels off that someone has spaced the wheels away from the hubs with an extra nut. Is there a reason for this, or has someone done this due to oversize tire rubbing the tub issue in the past? Rubbing won't be an issue with the 22x11-8 gators. I'm inclined to mount the wheels flush to the hubs if there is no reason for the nut spacers.

Sorry for the late reply, but I have 8 of these snow tires on my argo conquest and I'm wondering if you think cutting the middle tabs out of all 8 tires would make a considerable difference in the water versus your experiment with only the back two?
