  • bearing cages and wheel extenders

sorry for all the questions but being new at this I have no choice.
I was wondering do I need to take off the wheel extenders and the bearing cages when I remove the tracks. it seems like it rides ok but I am not sure if it would put unneeded strain on the axel bearings.
it looks like a bit of work to take the bearing cages off. I guess if I have to it may be a good time to really inspect the bearings and service them if needed.

Hi johnnova, there are a few good discussions on this topic that should be able to give you some differing opinions on whether or not to leave them on. You can make up your mind from there. Try using the search and you should find them. Here are a couple to get you started:

I just got tracks for mine. I plan on leaving the bearing cages on...another bearing can't be all bad I would think. But the extensions seem like they would add stress for no reason so they will only be on when tracks are on. Unless I find something on here that changes my mind which very well could happen
