Carlisle powertracII vs Goodyear rawhideIII

if anyone can shed any light on which is the better tire i would really appreciate it? i've found the carlisle powertrac II for $66, and the goodyear rawhide III for around $108. my problem is finding a 20x11-8 tire in canada and shipping from the states seems to be a ittle expensive. any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Make sure and check Motorcycle Parts, Motorcycle Accessories by BikeBandit.com for Rawhide prices, they were 55 dollars or so a while back, but I have no idea on the shipping to Canada.

Check any ATV shop and see if they can get Duro's in I paid $50 a pce. for them 4 ply tires hf 243's shipping incl. check their web site I think they work great on mine. I am in Canada.

Moose, I am trying out the Carlisles on my Avenger. They are not a great water tire, so if you have lots of water to go through they will be limited. As well if you are running tracks then you need to add extensions as the carlisles are slightly taller than the goodyear.
Overall the Carlisle are a good value tire.

tires and shipping in Canada

Hi Moose, i got the same problem for tire. I m shopping for tires who are out of prices here... Rawhides terra are 150$+ here while in the states they are only 49$... I called Todd at Tires Unlimited - Discount motorcycle tires, ATV tires - tire dealers and have some prices made for 6 tires. Shipping to my door was around 220$ and if i have them shipped to a receiving warehouse just across the border i can save 190$. I have to cross US/Canada border, go to the warehouse, paid a little fee for receiving and storage. Go back to the border, declare my tires, pay both taxes and go home... I think it worth 2h of driving.... If you want to do the same in your province, you got to find a warehouse that can receive your package and hold it for couple of days. I ll give you the one i use and try to find one similar near you.

Royal Distributing does the duro tyres and thet have a few places (don't know if it's only ontario) but there shipping is very fast. If I can't get down thay day I jsut ring and it's here with a couple of days.

Taxes on tires

Hi Roger, i was telling Moose how to buy tires in the States and save some money. Here in Quebec we have 2 taxes to pay when we bring back some goods from the US. It's 14% of taxes on the total of my bill of sale from the tire compagny. We got no custom fee to pay because tires made in the US are part of our FreeTrade policy between CAnada and US. Here Rawhide tires are 150$ each while inthe US they are 49$... It's easy to calculate.... Even with the shipping we save a lot of money...

I didn't think about that way... but it's a really good way to skip Taxes!!!!! You can even exchange your argo there and come back with a other one ...also cover in mud !!!!!! Custom will never see a thing!!!!

great ideas, but i am far enough north that it's not as easy as going south across the border to pick up tires. i would be looking at probably 16+ hours of driving. but maybe it would still be worth it, i don't know. might have to look into it a little more.
