  • Baby got a new pair of shoes!

Got home from work and the UPS fairy left me present in my garage
    25 " Rawhide III on Matt O's 9 " beadlock rims:

Side by side comparison of the 22" and 25" rawhides:

    On the machine comparison:

    Machine before and after:

I'm looking forward to some more clearance:

I took the machine for a quick ride around the neighborhood I can already tell that these tires will be so much smother riding. I can't wait to try them out in the dirt!

I agree. I like the picture you posted that shows the Max from the back with a 25" on one side and a 22" on the other. The ground clearance difference is really visible there. Plus it looks even better now too!

Those "gifts" that arrive by UPS have been some of the most satisfying.. and they're always just what we wanted!

            Robbie,

I went with the 25" for a number of reasons. First I wanted a pair of Matt O's beadlock wheels and I think he only makes them in 9". These rims have been reported to be extremely good at holding tire beads at low pressure.

Also right now I only have a 16 hp Briggs and didn't want to get too heavy and too big (hopefully engine change coming in the near future).

The Rawhides are at a very reasonable price vs other tires and its a proven durable tire with good swimming ability. I'm guessing Argo would have stopped using them by now if they weren't an exceptional tire especially as they have their own brand of tire.

Also with the 9" rim and 25" tires that's 16" of cushion run at very low pressure VS 12" rims and 26" tires = 14" of rubber. That's a big deal on these non-suspension machines. I've only ridden in a max with 26" tires once and my impression was it rode a little on the stiff side.

I forgot in my first post to thank Matt O for making such a good product and being awesome to deal with. Thanks again Matt!

They look great, Mike. You'll have to let us know how they perform.
