just came in the house from riding. we have about 6 to 8 inches of snow here in the shenandoah valley. rode around my farm. was able t o easily get thru and go up hills that i probably would have just spun on. they grab the snow good. tried them on the front 2 tires last week but they rub the tub. nice thing is no extensions needed on wheels and i have 22 inch rawhides.looking forward to seeing just how deep a snow they will plow me thru.easy to make.only bending the 3/16 x 1 inch flatbar guides took a little while. if a 6x6 has good tire clearance it is pretty easy and less expensive to make a set of pretty good tracks. now time to go plow. thanks john in no. va.

i did not notice any problems with the chains. i aired up the front tire to about 7 psi and have 5 psi on the back two. maybe that helped. i ran them a couple days of days down at busco beach gathering in oct. and had no problems. they worked good in the mud also.only about 15 min. each side to install and air up. i wrap them on the tires,no air, pull together with a rachet strap then hook the chains with a quick link.then air them up. they come off even quicker. there was some trial and error making them but now seems the bugs are out.i may go back and extend the belt on the outside to get a little more footprint, but i think with halftracks you can get only so much ground footprint.it,s more about traction. i made then cause i could not afford 6 new 21'' wheels, tires, exstenders and tracks. plus it's fun making stuff. john in no. va.

i really liked the way the half tracks worked. to close to tub to run on the front wheels, so i bought a set of 5'' wheel extensions and went ahead and lenghthend them. now there a full set. made my max 2 even better in snow and mud. probably cost me about $ 125.00 dollars in materials each to make. johnboy va.
