  • 18" supertrax Vs slush on lakes ????

I am curious if anyone here has any experience with the argos with 18" supertraxs and lake slush, as I am up in northern Manitoba and we had lots of snow at the beginning of our ice season and some lakes have a foot or more of slush. I know snow machines have no problem as long as you have the speed and power to make it through but the argo does not.

    any ideas ther boys????

I remember seeing one of RD's vids in the slush.

My new beer holder spilled some on the trails - in it's hair and down it's throat.
    Joe Camel never does that.

I got a max Iv with factory tracks and always carry a long handled shovel with. Last winter we had a ton of slush and nothin to winch to. When it bellied out I loosened the snow/slush under the tub front and back and was able to back right out in my same tracks. Hope this helps
What it lacks in ground clearance it makes up for with traction.

I run lakes constantly throughout the season and slush is a challenge, day before yesterday had to cross a long section of deep slush something that would give a long track high powered sled a chore, the big trick is not a lot different than in mud without tracks do not try and ram your way thru you will belly up,when forward movement feels like you are coming to a halt, stop backup and move over try to get better purchase and continue, patients is a virtue in slush as I travel with out backup of another machine caution is the name of the game to have to get out and risk getting wet at 30 below is not a option I want to do very often. There have been times that I would have to reroute because of it,fun to play in if you got another Bud around but can be a bad bad situation by yourself as in the deep cold you cant take hours to free yourself because it starts freezing the slush fast when its exposed and if you get into a build up freezing inside the track it can and will be a bad scene.Since I travel to the cabin by lake I go prepared with a post and ice auger worse case I drill a hole put in a post and get out the one arm bandit winch away, thankfully not often, but as much as I travel lakes early and late in the season it happens (see my gallery)LOL.Side note just noticed you said Super,s I run rubber but use to run supers they work well but dont clean out well and if you got them big time slushed up make sure you run it plenty on non slush trail or what have you before you park it in the cold at your destination, get them as deslushed as possible when they freeze you dont want a huge ice buildup,NCT

Overflow and AATV's on any tracks is a real crapshoot. Trust me on this one. Everything is usually fine, untill you spin a track, then the work starts. An Ice Anchor, shovel, winch is a VERY good idea if you intend to try it. I've tried a number of different track styles, doesn't matter, they all get stuck in the overflow.
