was interested to know of anyones experiance with dual wheels all around. how do they work in deep snow ? my homemade half tracks on back 2 wheels need to be wider, which will be easy. if i run them on the front 2 wheels they rub the tub. was thinking about the wide tracks on the back and dual wheels on just the front. the back tracks will be 14'' wide. what do you think? any ideas appreciated. thanks johnboy va.

Get spacers and run full tracks. Duels are way wide. They increase stress on the bearings and axles as well. I remember hearing RI threw all their factory duelly kits into the dumpster at one point due to issues with excess wear and tear on the machines. I think they are basically a novelty. Cool but unpractical and very hard on the machines.l like to buy stuff and no I don't do payments!

thanks drew, i think thats right for sure. i'm going to try my tracks on the front again and see if it is just a little modifing on the tub for clearance. seems hard to find used extensions. whose the best price on new ? if those work i will just lengthen and widen my tracks and be good to go. johnboy va.

There was a dealer named Clay Beach (no pun ) who sold Max's in Mi. and Florida who I believe sold the kits right, The 4's had 25's or 26's with 22's out side, the 2's had 22's with 21's outside. This limits the stress during flatland operation yet gives floatation in the muck. I had intended on doing 25's and 22's at Busco last fall but FIL passed and didn't make it.
The width is the biggest downfall on our cut trails, JBF found this out with the Copperhead at Tom's last month. Course I'll have the same issue tomorrow with the 18 inch rubber tracks on tomorrow, but following Tom who has my Supertracks on should even that out and JBF will have the width advantage with his Adair's.sigpic
My new beer holder spilled some on the trails - in it's hair and down it's throat.
Joe Camel never does that.
Advice is free, it's the application that costs.

argojim, thanks for the reply. does a track like the adair or chanel track give as much support in deep snow as a track that is rubber or plastic the whole width? those only have the 2 rubber belts on the sides. do you think with 14'' wide halftracks on the back 2 tires and and dual setup like you say on the fronts would work good in deep snow ( 12'' plus ) on my max 2 ? thanks, johnboy va.
