  • Johnboy's mud and snow bear claws

Hey friends - Here are some pictures of the front wheel "bear claws" I made to go along with the half tracks. Looking forward to testing them out in the deep snow and mud. Tried them in the swamp and it seems like the Max swam better. Will keep you posted. John BoyIMG_0725.jpgIMG_0727.jpg

deedee, these '' bearclaws '' were just something fun to make. i'll no how good they work when i get in the good pudding mud at busco. so far my halftracks work really well. need a good 12''-18'' snow here. hope you get your tracks soon. i knew they would be your next purchase. blessings ! johnboy va.

man how do you think of this stuff! You have the mind of a great inventor! That is a mod like no others on this site and looks like it will work. different than the standard tire chains that come up often.

flippy , thanks. i went down in my mud snow pit yesterday and it's deep enough i could see the ''bearclaws working. i just like making fun stuff. i bet if a guy had them on all 6 wheels they may help alot. only cost me about $25 to make. johnboy va.

sorry gene, i only made those. started with the 5'' wheel extensions then put a 6'' round metal disc on the end. welded the angle pieces as you see then wrapped 4'' wide belting around. then added some more angle pieces. they worked well. the picture shows you the general idea. hope this helps. j.b
