I have run my Swamp Fox Plus tires at 7 PSI for ground clearance and this is what I found. The ride is rougher but even at 7psi the foxes rode better than 26" Goodyears. The increased ground clearance made a world of difference in mud and muddy water and with the extra PSI swam better becuase the vehicle rode higher in the water. Most of my Swamp videos were shot with six Foxes run at 7 psi with two to four people in my Max. The harder tire sheads mud better. I ran all through the swamps with 7 psi and never got stuck. I lowered my psi to 2 1/2 went through the same area the same day and got stuck in soft mud right away. Even though my clearance was very, very tight, I seemed to do better with more psi. The exception is running through the forrest or flooded forrest with tons of downed trees. The soft tires will hit a log and pull you over where a high psi tire will spin and get you stuck with the log between tires. Hope this helps. The video below was shot with high psi. Results of lowering the psi show me and my son stuck in soft mud. I have always said-GROUND CLEARANCE IS KING!

I own an Argo Conquest 8x8. The Goodyear Runamuck has a 5 psi maximum pressure rating. I run 4 psi in the front 2 tires, due to the engine weight. The rest are set a 3 psi. No problems with water propulsion, mud shedding or, getting stuck in mud due to ground clearance. I would not see enough height increase-ground clearance, to justify over-inflating to 7 psi.

The runamucks are an aatv tire made for low prssure. The swamp Foxes are an atv (quad) with a 1.3 inch lug that seems to shead mud better with higher PSI. The swamp foxes are made for an 8" wide rim and the Max rim is 10" wide. This means to get the tire to sit up a little higher I had to run more PSI and this worked for me with this tire and rim combo and gave me a ground clearance advantage and reduced the power I used to keep those big tires moving. I would never consider running a runamuck over 4 psi. 8x8 gives you a certain advantage under certain conditions as the 6x6 gives me certain advantages under certain conditions. Both work well for there intended use. PSI has everthing to do with the tire and vehicle you are running. In this case I was simply stating what worked for me and why. THX

            Hey, MMIV,
I was commenting on trying your concept due to previous attempts on my own with different tire pressure levels! I have owned my current 8x8 for about 4 years and, prior to the existence of this website, we owners, for the most part, had to rely on trial & error. (in my case, alot of error)LOL!!
