  • 13" Argo track fitment question.

Hi, I found a set of 13" tracks for sale that are advertised as being off of an 89 Magnum 8x8 with 22 tires. I have a 1994 vanguard with 20" tires. Will these tracks be usable to me and my 6x6 on 20s? Can I just remove some sections to reduce the length (and gain some spare sections) or do I need a specific track for my Argo? Hopefully picking them up tomorrow, but I don't want to waste the time or gas if they won't work for me.

    Thanks in advance!

Yes they'll fit and should fit with 22's if they haven't grown too much.

My new beer holder spilled some on the trails - in it's hair and down it's throat.
    Joe Camel never does that.

Advice is free, it's the application that costs.

Great! Thank you for the reply. We both got busy over the weekend and we couldn't connect, but I've now paid for the tracks and will be picking them up tomorrow evening.

Nice purchase. Love my tracks on my 6x6's. I am looking for segments as previous owner ripped off almost all the corners taking argo off the trailer. Good luck and enjoy.

Well I picked up the 13" tracks a few weeks ago for a good price and promptly slapped them on the Argo and took it for a few test rides. There was still some pockets of deep snow on my first ride and lots of mud on a 2 other rides. After 3 trips out I can see these are specifically meant to be used on snow and the ocassional mud hole. Driving on/over any hard surface (rocks, logs, ashpalt) is like driving a truck with cookie sheets under tires.

So I decided to sell these tracks and I have just purchased a set of rubber Camoplast tracks from a Max IV with aluminum guides. I will have to shorten these to work on the Argo but I think they will be more usable, now I'm off to research belt splice/hinge kits.
