  • tire trouble

`i used the tire machine at work to mount my tires on the rims, and tore a section of the bead on 1 tire. as you can imagine it now won't hold air. i tried filling the tear with some silicone, but no dice... any suggestions?

Slime might take care of it. Probably have to drive it to circulate the slime, and run more psi than normal 'till it coagulates.

      IMHO:
probably the only for sure fix would be glue the tear and put a tube in it.......tires flex a lot. There might be a "boot" type repair sheet, like on tractor tires, but, I'd think on the bead it'd not hold.
If you do install a tube, put a flap of soft rubber over the tear to keep sharp edges away from said tube,,,,,,or, maybe cover it with a layer of your silicone.

      good luck,
