Home made tracks

Hello this is my first post. I bought a vanguard 6x6 in march never owned one before. I've changed all 8 chains all the wheel bearings and seals now I'm making tracks. So my question is should there be a gap in the rubber tracks with the tires flat and pull them together to pin. Or should they come right together then pin them and air tires back up. Thanks in Advance..

hunter, on my max 2 adair tracks i let the air out of the tires, pull the tracks together with a ratchet strap, fasten and then air up the tires. so there is a gap when pulling them together. i don't think the gap can be so much that when the tracks are pulled together they flatten the tires. some other guys will give some good advice also. have fun !! john boy va.
