Whats the thought on buying a 100 ft box of 500 pound strength steel 2/0 loop chain and just welding the chain in the same shape you need for your tire guides then mounting this track guide to your belt?I got the idea from looking at the amphicat track pictures and also thinking about tire chains.Seems it would be much simpler than bending flat stock and much cheaper than buying guides.I also looked at the pictures on this site of the max steel tracks someone made.

hey flippy, i think if you used the chain and made one continuous tire chain length to go around all the tires, then use a 3/16'' thick by the width of the tire that contacs the ground of belting you would get good grab with the cross chains and some floatation with the belting. the belting could be bolted with 2 bolts thru each cross chain. under those chains so the belt would be between the tire and cross chain. you could weld each cross chain maybe 6'' apart or use quick links. make the cross chains long enough so the long side chains come down the sidewall so they won't come off. connect the whole chain track with 2 quick links and 2 bolts thru the belting. overlap the belting maybe 4''. just a thought. hope it helps. johnboy va. you could try just a half track first and get it just right then make the complete sets.
